Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! The secret to understanding yourself, and to being open to the Divine, lies in silence. When you are able to quiet your tongue, you can hear the voice of your ka speaking to you clearly. When you are able to quiet the voice of your ka as well, all the other voices of the universe have a chance to speak out. Great are the stories and teachings that they can share, if only you are ready and willing to allow them to speak to you. In silence many things can be learned, most of which are about you, even if you aren't involved in their telling. May the silence bring you wisdom. Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Feast of 17-23 Paenopet (Day 7) As the Full Moon of Khonsu rose last night, the land took upon itself a blue glow. This bau, or manifestation of the power of the god, has great blessing power. Our whole world was blessed under the light of this moon. There are holy things to be understood in the simplest of things, from the sound of the wind to the silent fall of moonlight across a sleeping world. May you find unexpected happiness in the simplest of things. Dua Khonsu! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Djed of Ptah, Lord of the Workshop The Opet Festival has ended, and the festival of the month of Paenopet is coming to a close. I hope that you had a wonderful time and that all of these gods have manifested in blessing your lives richly. We honor Hethert, mistress of all love and beauty and joy, as She processes around the country through the remainer of this Kemetic month. Leave your heart open for Her entry. Ptah, lord of craftsmen, is also honored today in the placement of His Djed, or symbol of establishment and endurance. If you are looking for more stability or peace or stamina in your life, it is a good day to make prayer and offering to Him as His Djed is honored throughout the altars of the land. May beauty, strength and joy be yours. I pray in the names of all these gods and goddesses for your wishes and dreams to come true. Dua Ptah! Dua Hethert! Dua Amun, Mut her Khonsu! Nekhtet!

Opet (Day 8) The Hidden Sun goes forth, and we celebrate in its wake, knowing that it will return with the Zep Tepi of dawn. A new month reaches its half, a new meteorological season is upon us with the equinox, and the Eye of the Sun retreats to Nubia for another time, only to return as Wep Ronpet waxes. There is faith, and hope, in knowing that no matter how far things turn from the dawn, the dawn is only a few hours away. May the gods of creation and all the gods of magic give you gladness as you wait for your own dawn. Dua Amun! Dua Mut! Dua Khonsu! Dua Aset! Dua Ra! Dua Shemsu-Ra!

Opet (Day 7) Last evening I spent in the Truth and the Mother chapel, re-dedicating myself to your service for another year, in a quiet ceremony attended only by the gods and spirits of the temple in its various shrines and altars. This is always a very special time of year for me, and this year's celebration was doubly so; the entire neighborhood around the temple was in festival all day and all night as well, being the city's public celebration of Mexican Independence Day. Our parking lot was filled with music and dancing, and a parade went through our neighborhood during the day. Make sure to celebrate this very holy Opet festival. The blessings these gods can give, and today the addition of the creator Khnum-Ra and the majestic Heru provide us with even more strength, power and joy. Nekhtet for these gods! May They show you the way. Dua Amun! Dua Mut! Dua Khonsu! Dua Hapy! Dua Khnum-Ra! Dua Heru! Nekhtet!

Opet (Day 4) So, just what is this Opet Festival, anyway? We continue to celebrate the reunion of the Gods of Uaset and the rejuvenation of the Kingly Ka here in the Truth and the Mother Shrine. Last evening we also added a special festival for Bast. I'm hoping to get some photographs into the galleries to show you; this shrine is so beautiful, and this week it seems even more "golden" than it did last week. It's the time of year when the afternoon sun is shining directly into the southern windows, and so shafts of sunlight are punctuating the usual dimness in the seating area, making bright stripes before the Akhu altar and the altar of the Holy Family of Abdju (Aset, Wesir and Heru-sa-Aset), as well as framing the shoulders of the hawk of Heru-wer on the altar dais. It's just really beautiful in there. I wish I could describe it better in words, but perhaps you'll just have to wait for the photos -- or better yet -- you'll just have to come visit! May the King of the Gods, as He renews the kingship of the world, renew all your strengths and blessings and give you the power to seek your own successes as you go out into your lives from His festival. Dua Amun! Dua Mut! Dua Khonsu! Dua Duamutef! Nekhtet!

Opet (Day 2) Happy Opet! The great feast of the Holy Trinity of Uaset is upon us, with all of its attendant celebrations. We honor the marriage and the family of Amun and Mut, as well as the official "birthday" of the Kingly Ka, during this festival, so it's a very special time. And, in this year of Amun-Ra and Sekhmet, it's even more special than usual! How will you celebrate the festival? Share your thoughts with others on our Devotions Boards! In the shrine I have taken out the icons of the Holy Trinity and they are standing on the altar among all Their finery. Sometime later during this week I'll be taking out some private time to rededicate my vows as Nisut to all whom I serve, and that will be a bit more somber and personal, but otherwise I hope for this to be a very happy and joyous celebration. Have a good holiday and may the gods bless you! I'm also very, very excited to announce the first of several "Opet gifts" to the temple I'm making this year. You can get a sneak peek by clicking here. This website will be officially released over the next several days, and it's going to start filling up with more than just the one item there currently! Nekhtet! Dua Amun! Dua Mut! Dua Khonsu! Dua Heru-Behdety! Dua Khnum! Nekhtet!

Growth and potential and change are in the air, and are celebrated as we enter the holy time of Opet. May each of these holy beings bring your life peace, prosperity and a refreshment of love. Sixth-Day Festival On the sixth day of each Kemetic month we take a special time to honor our ancestors and all of the blessed dead. This month's observance coincides with a larger observance in the United States of the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. We honor the memories of our the friends and family members of our faith who were involved in the attacks, some of whom lost their lives that day, and our hearts go out to all who mourn this anniversary. We also honor a day to three goddesses of growth and leadership. May They grant our world's leaders the ability to do the right things in the face of terrorism, and to continue to do them with bravery and resolve, together as a united force against all that would seek to destroy life. I pray in the names of these goddesses that we continue as a species to seek peace and happiness amongst ourselves, to redress our collective grievances, and to reach Ma'at. Dua Akhu! Dua Menhyt! Dua Aset! Dua Nekhbet! Nekhtet!

First Day of the Kemetic Month The Eye of Heru, symbol of victory, strength, power, health, and selfless offering, is worth protecting. It is worth guarding. You, as the Eye of Heru, the gift of your gods and goddesses, are worth guarding. Your health, your power, your strength and your selflessness -- all these things -- are worth guarding. Last Day of the Kemetic Month As we enter the second month of our first season and near the great Feast of Opet, may the gods and goddesses continue to manifest the New Year's blessing. Since Amun-Ra is one of our gods upon the year, I believe this year's Opet will be very powerful indeed. Make sure to make offering and celebrate during that time! This week will see some really exciting announcements around the faith as well. (I can't tell just yet....) Keep your eyes on this space for more details! Dua Ra! Dua Heru! Dua Wesir! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Feast of Khnum The hands of Khnum, the Creator, are ridged, torn, scarred with the work of many ages, but worn in a familiar, comfortable way. His hands are hard, but big; big enough for a child's hand to be lost in yet held tightly and firmly, never let go. His hands are covered in the dust from which mankind comes forth, and the spirit with which he is invested. His hands are our hands on this holy day of festival. May all you create magnify Him and honor yourself as His creation. Dua Khnum! Nekhtet!

Offerings to Amun, Mut and Khonsu of Isheru Ten days before the beginning of the major feast of Opet, we offer a first set of offerings and celebrations to its central trinity: Amun, His wife Mut and Their son, Khonsu. May They bring you all magic and power in this year that is overseen by the King of all Gods' might. We also honor Khendet, a major servant-spirit of the goddess Nit, Who assists Her in creating and in healing the world. May you also feel Her blessings! I pray today that all the hidden and seen pains of the world, whether your personal world or the world at large, are lessened. May They bring peace and healing and joy. Dua Amun! Dua Mut! Dua Khonsu! Dua Khendet! Dua Nit! Nekhtet!

Feast of Nekhbet The great Lady of Upper Kemet, Nekhbet, is in festival today as the eternally opposed gods Heru-sa-Aset and Set find peace and prosperity between Themselves. It is a day when conflicts can end and negotiations can triumph. Today is a day when a new start can be made. What will you do with this opportunity? May the Gods at Peace grant peace in all of your lives. Dua Nekhbet! Dua Heru-sa-Aset! Dua Set! Nekhtet!
