About
The daily devotions are written by Her Holiness the Nisut (AUS) and include prayers and special practices for the faithful, corresponding to the Kemetic Orthodox calendar.

From 1994-1999, the daily devotions had been available exclusively to followers of the House of Netjer. We share them now with the general public so that all may learn from these enlightening and thought-provoking missives.

Make vegetable offerings to the gods in Ra's Presence. Make a holiday in your house.

Are you still feeding your Ka?

The final week, and final moon, of Kemetic Orthodox Year 13 are upon us, and we look back with gratitude on the year we have had with Geb's blessings. Foundations are created and Year 14 dawns with new promises, new challenges and new hopes.

What will next year bring for you?

As we enter the bustle of preparations for our Kemetic New Year, we also celebrate this evening with a Shemsu Naming Ceremony to welcome the latest converts to our faith as well as some children of the faith. There will be many celebrations over the next two weeks as we bring in Year 14 and the tenth year of my Nisuthood over the faith and our Kemetic Orthodox nation. May each of our celebrations be filled with joy and continue to add blessing to the old -- and the new -- year.

Dua Ra! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown!
May your coming be peaceful.

God(s) of the Month: Ra-Heruakhety
Current Decan: 35: A-sahu, "Strider's Arm"
Today's Festival(s):
no special festivals today

Say heru em meses nefer (Happy birthday!) to:
no birthdays today

"Cairo Calendar" Entry:
Do not go out in the morning because of the crew that leads the rebels. If any lion goes out on the earth today, he will be blind, and they will say "he will not live."

Are you still feeding your Ka?

Other than a very strange Cairo Calendar entry (yes, it really does say those things, and seems to refer obliquely to dangers for the royal person (the lion versus the rebels), there are no special festivals for us to tend to today. Use the day as a good day for rest and reflection, make good offerings to your ancestors, spirits and gods, and enjoy what we have left of Geb's year!

I give thanks myself for the beginning of my thirty-seventh year upon earth, and hope that this year will give me many opportunities to serve and give my love to this earth and all its creations.

Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Feast of Water for Those in the Next World

Say heru em meses nefer (Happy birthday!) to:
Remetj P.-J. L. in Tennessee and Remetj Brad D. in New York

"Cairo Calendar" Entry:
[It is the day] to give water to those who are in the hidden world (Duat) [and the] Great Nine of the West. It is pleasant for your fathers and mothers who are in the cemetery.

Are you still feeding your Ka?

Yesterday we gave honor to the Creator(s) and to Creation. Today, we honor our Akhu, the Shining Ones, our blessed dead, or our "fathers and mothers" as the Calendar puts it. In the same way that we begin all our ceremonies and rituals, today we give honor to those who came before us, to those who are responsible for our being here on this planet, part of this Creation.

I give honor and offerings to my Akhu: all the ancestors I know and all the ancestors I do not know, all the ancestors of my blood, my love, and my faith. May each of Them receive all of the things They loved in life, and may each of Them know They are loved and remembered. May They be peaceful and happy in the Beautiful West where They are.

Join me in naming and honoring your Akhu today.

Dua Akhu! Nekhtet!

Remetj Michael C. in New York (today)

"Cairo Calendar" Entry:
Do not do anything. Do not go out on any road today...it is the going forth of Ra to propitiate the Nun in his cavern in front of His followers and the Great Nine of the Mesektet-boat today.

Are you still feeding your Ka?

The last month of the Kemetic year is halfway over, and we mark it with a special holiday where creator meets creator; where the sun gives honor to the primeval waters.

Today make a special offering in honor of all creation, and ask for Ra's blessing upon all of your creative endeavors. May the great warmth, heat and light of the One Who is in the Boat, and all of His Crew, shine down upon you and give you strength, hope and blessings.

Use this time also to ask for special protection as the boat nears its renewal point of Wep Ronpet.

Dua Ra! Dua Nun! Nekhtet!

Procession of Aset, Mother of God (Aset Webenut/Aset Luminous)

Say heru em meses nefer (Happy birthday!) to:
Remetj Nicky R. in California, yesterday (3 July)

"Cairo Calendar" Entry:
Ma'at and all gods perform the rites on behalf of the One Who is in Heaven.

Are you still feeding your Ka?

The final month of Kemetic Orthodox Year 13 is upon us, and with it the festival described in the ancient calendar of the temple of Edfu as "the taking out in procession of Aset luminous, Mother of God, residing in Behdet....resting in the barque-sanctuary; every kind of good thing is offered to Her."

On this day we celebrate the great mother of Heru-sa-Aset, wife of Wesir, and Mistress of Heka. Lights are lit after dark in Her honor, and boats carrying the prayers of the faithful are floated on the waters of the world. Somewhere, maybe even somewhere near you, some Kemetic Orthodox will be praying and lighting lights and floating paper boats to thank Her or ask for Her help in their lives. These lights will shine throughout the world on this very special day, even here in the Truth and the Mother Temple.

It is a festival of lights and hope, a holiday of blessing and joy and celebration. May you make the most of it, and enjoy this festival, one of the more beautiful ones in our calendar. As Her light shines, may peace, joy, health and prosperity be yours today and ever more.

Dua Aset! Nekhtet!

The feast of Mut in Isheru on this day. It is the day of feeding the gods and Her Shemsu.

Are you still feeding your Ka?

It's been a while, and I'm still not back to working full time, but I want each of you to know you've been missed and I'm delighted to be back and starting up the Daily Devotions again.

The season is shifting. We have just completed the Feast of the Beautiful Reunion and the Heb Sed, honoring the Kingly Ka, and a feast in honor of Mut and Amun-Ra as the gods of Uaset is upon us. The final month of the Kemetic year is almost here. Preparations are ongoing and bustling for our ninth annual Wep Ronpet celebration, a celebration that this year also honors my tenth year as Nisut and our 14th year as a religious organization. It's sure to be an excellent time. If you haven't signed up already, get with Kai-Imakhu Ini as soon as you can. You won't want to miss this one!

Later in this year we will also be taking a special trip to Egypt to commemorate my tenth year anniversary in November, and you're all welcome to join us at a phenomenal rate. Read the website for more information.

There's so much going on here. My heart is lifted and excited by all the wonderful things I'm going to be telling you about over the next few weeks. Wep Ronpet always brings something fresh and new to our people and this year will be no exception.

I love you all very much and I'm glad you're here. Celebrate the gods with me!

Dua Mut! Dua Amun-Ra Nisut Netjeru! Nekhtet!
