Birthday of Wesir It is the birthday of the Great God Wesir. Light a green or black candle in your shrine or somewhere prominent in your home. Let it burn all day if you can -- if not, light it when you can and just make sure you can see it all day. Each time you look at it, give thanks for the birth of the great Father, Nisut of the Unseen World. Spend some time today in the grass or on the dirt in some way. Put your hands into it. Put your arms around a tree. Touch a plant. Feel the green earth rising up, rising from Geb to kiss Nut. Know that this green, dark, warm power is Wesir's caress and accept it. Breathe in His heka and cause change in your life. I love all of you. May Wesir be the catalyst for New Year, as He brings us toward that place.

Last Day of the Kemetic Year We cap off an exceptionally successful Kemetic New Year with the start of two major festivals: one to honor the holy white linen used to clothe our icons; and the second to remind us that the New Year, the place where time begins anew, draws nigh. Tomorrow, we begin the birthdays of the gods, the time-out-of-time. Watch your dreams for special messages; these may continue on even into your waking hours as the Unseen World has particular power in the Seen world over these special Days Upon the Year. Make your New Year's resolutions and be ready -- for the First Time is only five days away!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! "The Gods Sail" People have begun their trek toward Chicago for our Fifth Annual New Year celebration, from other continents and other cities, or as close as next door. As they begin to arrive, so do the Netjeru, coming from all the cities of Kemet to the center of the universe as the anniversary of the First Time nears. I pray for all people today in the names of my gods and goddesses that you find blessing, peace, and happiness with your gods and your people. May it be a very blessed time for us all as we end the Kemetic year and enter the Days Upon the Year.

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Tepy-Semdet (Full Moon Festival) Today marks the last moon festival of Kemetic Orthodox year 9. We honor Sokar-Wesir and the whole Eye of Heru as It is represented in the pale white light of evening, and make our wishes and our offerings in Its light. Looking forward to sharing a special prayer and worship service with our people this evening in our biweekly Dua. Join us if you can!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Take time from your busy day today to make a special offering. This is not an offering to your god(s) or even to your ancestors. It is an offering to yourself, to your very own ka. Feed your ka with music, with a short nap, with an unexpected dessert. Feed it with the laughter of children or the silence of nature on a sunny afternoon. Offer it love, acceptance, praise and joy. Give to your ka, that it might give back to you much, much more. I pray in the name of Ma'at the balancer that you find the time and the heart to feed your ka that which it needs to sustain you, today and always.

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Feast of Yinepu Things are getting pretty exciting around here, as we gear up for our fifth annual New Year's gathering here in Chicago. Lots to buy, put together, and finalize...always makes for an interesting and fast-paced end of Kemetic year! We're looking forward to seeing a record crowd this year to inaugurate Regnal Year 10. In addition to our New Year's rituals and fellowship, there'll be a special field trip to Tawy House, and the training of a whole new crew of Wab priests, as well as the annual observance of the Weshem-ib Shemsu Ordeal ritual (where Shemsu-Ankh swear their oaths) and a formal live Kemetic Naming ceremony. I can't wait to see everyone! Are you excited yet? You should be -- Kemetic New Year is just around the corner! I pray to Yinepu, whose shrine we recently opened at Tawy House, that all those who are travelling to meet us have safe and efficient travels, and that all our roads remain open.

The Eye of Heru Returns Complete I've returned from my Haitian odyssey with a heavy heart but a working mind: there is much that the Udjat Foundation will be able to accomplish there. There'll be more on that along with photographs from the trip after I return from the Founder's Day Weekend at Tawy House about to begin. For now, join me in celebrating the feasts of the Eye of Heru and of Mut, the great Mother of Waset. I pray in both of Their names that your weekend is calm and filled with blessing.

First Day of the Kemetic Month Her Holiness will be out of the country, making an interfaith trip to Jacmel, Haiti, until July 17. In the meantime, please enjoy the new photo galleries at the House of Netjer website, along with the just-uploaded images of last weekend's Aset Luminous Festival!
Please join us in praying for Her Holiness' safe travel and return. Her offices will remain open during Her trip. Email our Nisut (AUS) with a private prayer!

Last Day of the Kemetic Month We've just returned from the Aset Luminous celebrations at Tawy House. I wish that I could share with you more than photographs and stories. It was a full, calm and simply beautiful time, with those of us who could come sharing time with the Great Goddess under the spreading ancestor tree, singing as we filled water pools with paper boats bearing the prayers of our people, shining with little lights in the gathering sunset. As I sat before those pools and accepted boat after boat from the children of Aset, Meteruaset and Wenemaset who acted as my ritual assistants, and as Imakhu Ini, Her priest, read aloud a very beautiful prayer written by one of Her daughters who could not attend, Khenmetaset,I said a prayer for each of you. Then She came Herself and accepted the offerings, and we celebrated in song, in offering, and in opening our hearts. May Aset bring a light to your heart in this time of the last month of the year. Dua Aset! Dua Ra! Dua Heru! Dua Wesir! Nekhtet!
