About
The daily devotions are written by Her Holiness the Nisut (AUS) and include prayers and special practices for the faithful, corresponding to the Kemetic Orthodox calendar.

From 1994-1999, the daily devotions had been available exclusively to followers of the House of Netjer. We share them now with the general public so that all may learn from these enlightening and thought-provoking missives.

Feast of the Beautiful Reunion of Heru & Hethert
Heb-Sed Festival

At the halfway point of the Reunion this year, when Heru & Hethert go to the cemeteries to honor the ancestors, we also honor the traditional time to celebrate the Heb Sed festival in honor of the kingly ka and the institution of kingship. As this year is not the 30th year of my service to Netjer's people, no major jubilee will be marked in conjunction with this two day feast, but I am spending some special time before Netjer in shrine to rededicate myself to your service and to redeclare my intention toward being the best person I possibly can be in loving and helping all of you.

Thank you for accepting my calling. I hope to be even more present in your lives, helpful and supportive, as the New Year dawns and beyond. Thank you all for sharing the dream with me.

Dua Heru! Dua Hethert! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Beautiful Reunion of Heru & Hethert

As you celebrate with us the festival of the joining of two hearts, honor love in your own life.

Leave an offering to Netjer for love, whether you have it, or wish to find it. Remember that Netjer loves you unconditionally, as I do, every one who reads these words.

I pray to Heru-wer and Hethert that the love you find in your life brings only more and more.

Dua Heru! Dua Hethert! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Beautiful Reunion of Heru & Hethert

Have you seen it yet?

Yinepu Shrine Grand Opening at Tawy House

Can you tell we're excited?

We'll be out at Tawy House again this weekend for the Aset Luminous celebration. We're celebrating early since I'll be leaving the country when the festival actually falls next week, but it'll still be an exciting and beautiful time. If you would like a prayer boat to be placed in the sacred pools on your behalf, e-mail the staff at tawyhouse@netjer.org . Suggested donation is $10 per prayer boat, and can be paid via PayPal online.

I look forward to seeing those of you who will be joining us this weekend, and the posting of the pictures of this beautiful sunset ceremony of water and lights when we return!

Dua Heru! Dua Hethert! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Beautiful Reunion of Heru & Hethert

Without further adieu, I bring you a link to the first set of photographs from last weekend's history-making event:

Yinepu Shrine Grand Opening at Tawy House

More photographs will be added as they are received. We have also received the first cut of the video made during the ceremonies, and a professional version of this tape will be made available to everyone as soon as we're able to have coipes made. I'm very excited to be able to talk about this now -- it was hard keeping my mouth shut all week as we put things together!

A million Dua-Netjer to everyone who donated resources to make the shrine happen, to those who were able to come and help, and to all of you who believed this was possible. Kemetic Orthodoxy has entered into a new phase at the dawn of its tenth year...and this would not have been possible without all of you. From the depth of my ka, I give thanks for each of you!

Dua Heru! Dua Hethert! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Beautiful Reunion of Heru & Hethert

One of the longest and most beautiful holidays of our year is upon us! Coincident with the Return of the Wandering Goddess scientifically referred to as Summer Solstice, we celebrate the marriage of Hethert to the great god Heru-wer in His great city of Behdet (modern-day Edfu, Egypt). For a little more than two weeks we will celebrate Their marriage and reunion and love in all of its forms.

What a wonderful year it is to celebrate Their reunion! We have just come back from the dedication of Tawy House's first permanent shrine, and are now gearing up for Kemetic New Year just around the corner. In about ten days I will be leaving for Haiti to gather information for an Udjat Foundation project there, and when I return, we'll be celebrating a Founder's weekend out at Tawy just before New Year begins. Join us for these happy events and share in the blessing of the goddess and god who are reunited at this time each year.

Dua Heru! Dua Hethert! Nekhtet!

Thought for the Day:
In honor of Hethert's other side, Sekhmet, I offer you a link to the Sekhmet Seven Arrows Baths photo gallery that just went up. A gallery for last weekend's Yinepu Shrine Opening will be put up later today, so watch for it!

Saqu of Heru and Khnum
Treading the Fishes

Fish are placed in the ground today as an offering to assure good harvest in this end of the Kemetic year. I will be praying for each of you as this offering is made, for your protection and blessing, before Heru and all the gods. Celebrate the coming of year's end!

We're so excited with everything that is going on here. There's a real rush of activity as the end of the year approaches...six weeks to New Year. Are you ready?

Secret Procession of Ma'at and Ra

The gods are on the move today. Ma'at and Ra come out without anyone seeing Them, to replace order and balance in the world and to give blessing to those doing Their work. If They see you, what are They going to do?

I welcome discussion of your day in our message boards. There's information to be had for those paying attention -- Ma'at and Ra are on the job!

Dua Ma'at! Dua Ra! Nekhtet!

Thought for the Day:
Many, many millions of thanks to everyone who helped to make the Yinepu Shrine Opening weekend a major success! Hopefully now that our server issues have cleared, we'll be able to get the photographs from this weekend as well as those from the Sekhmet weekend last month uploaded and available very soon! Thanks for your patience.

In the meantime, enjoy some time at the Yinepu shrine!

Feast of Chewing Cucumbers for Sekhmet

Grab a green veggie and join us in celebrating Sekhmet's healing powers, especially as related to children and women seeking pregnancy.

Our faith has had a veritable explosion of births of late, children blessed by the Netjeru who have come into our lives. We give thanks to all the gods and goddesses for them and for their parents as well! Nekhtet!

Consider adding a cucumber to whatever you place in your shrines today, and remember those who are contemplating motherhood or are already mothers, as well as their young children. May Sekhmet keep them all safe and happy today!

Feast of Nit

Well, if I hadn't forgotten the camera on the short trip out to Tawy House last night, you would be looking at a photograph of a wonderful sight I had this morning.

Last night, very late after keeping our biweekly Dua service appointment, we dropped off some very large and heavy objects for the coming weekend's history-making Yinepu Shrine Opening. One of the things that had to be unpacked from the van was a stone statue of Yinepu just a bit shorter than my waist, to be stood somewhere near the shrine or elsewhere as He seemed to decide.

In any case, it was dark and late and He was heavy, so He ended up somewhere near the front door of the ritual room, outside near some ornamental stones. This morning, I awoke to find Him quite happily guarding that door and the side of the house where a massive rosebush has exploded into bloom with our recent heavy rains....bright red flowers are just bouncing around everywhere alongside where He's sitting! I think He'll stay.

Today I pray to the goddess Nit that the unexpected future brings you much joy, like flowers arising when none were expected to greet the placing of a god.

Dua Nit! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Beautiful Valley
Anger of Heru's Eye

So.....there's a life-size jackal statue and an Ut (Yinepu's personal ritual object, sometimes called a 'fetish'), a pile of flags and ritual robes gathered for dry-cleaning staring at me.

Can you tell we're planning a major event? Or does it just sound like I have strange decorating tastes?

Keep watching this space for more information about our history-making Yinepu Shrine Opening this coming weekend. It's really exciting to have more people contact us about coming, and running about to make all of our last-minute purchases and adjustments to schedules and objects. I haven't had this much fun since last year's Kemetic New Year! (Yes, even hard work can be fun!)

I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers today, especially as I perform some special heka on behalf of the god Heru-wer this evening. Each of the Remetj, Shemsu and Probationers of our faith will be remembered during this special heka, as I offer things to sweeten and appease the raging Eye of Justice, and bring His power, stability, and peace down for us all.

Please click the prayers button below if you'd like me to add any special heka or requests to Heru-wer this evening.

Dua Heru-wer! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Beautiful Valley

Just got back from Tawy House today. The preparations for our history-making weekend coming up are going very, very well. I'm really excited about the Yinepu Shrine Opening and I hope that all of you are as well! We're expecting quite the crowd (at least 25 people have already confirmed), and figuring out where we're going to put all those folks is only one of a number of big projects on my plate this week!

Join us in celebration this Sunday if you can, either by coming to the opening yourself or by thinking about us Sunday morning. We'll be posting photographs and reports on the weekend as soon as we return and I expect there will be quite a bit to say and share!

Feast of the Beautiful Valley

Outside my window, the tree is blossoming, and the weather becoming increasingly hot. Sunrise is coming well before 5 now, so my morning rituals have shifted forward a bit. More daylight and longer days remind me how close we are to Kemetic New Year, to our Year 10 start this time around.

Have I mentioned recently how proud I am of this faith and its people? Ten years we've been working at this -- and in ten years, so much to be excited about and proud of.

What will I be saying at Year 20?

Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Beautiful Valley

I'm using my devotion today to pass along some information on behalf of our website teams, since their ability to get it out to certain e-mails is hampered as well as their e-mails themselves.

You've probably already noticed that the House of Netjer Forums hosted on netjer.org aren't working. This is due to an unforeseen database problem caused by an upgrade at the ISP. We are working with our provider for netjer.org to get them up and running as soon as possible. In the meantime, just keep checking back!

Netjer.org emails are also affected; this means some of our clergy and also the e-mails for our Imyu-ra. These folks need to contact Kai-Imakhu Merybast for information on what they need to change in their at-home e-mail programs so that they will work again -- they were down, and are now back up -- however, some of you may still need to change information stored in your home e-mail in order to retrieve your @netjer.org mail.

Thus endeth the official website announcement. I apologize for filling my devotion with technical jargon I'm barely qualified to talk about, but it seemed a good choice when we didn't seem to have any other way to get in touch with the folks whose e-mails aren't working at the moment, and also our ability to update the "basic information" on the netjer.org and kemet.org main pages was also affected.

I pray today in the name of Wepwawet that our ISP's way is open to fixing these problems quickly!

Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Feast of the Beautiful Valley

Take some time today to spend with your ancestors, either at their ancestor shrine in your house if you have one, or in a place they enjoyed, or in the cemetery or mausoleum where they are interred.

Bring offerings, share love, and watch your dreams, as this festival is a time when the dead and living are in close proximity, a time when messages can come from any corner and really surprise you. I'd love to hear about your Beautiful Valley experiences on our boards as well!

I pray in the name of Wesir, He Who rules the lands of the blessed, that all your connections with His realm are positive and transformative.

Feast of the Beautiful Valley

We are in the midst of a very joyous and beautiful holiday. I am happy that I was able to celebrate it in part over our day at Kashi Ashram before I returned home with a nagging respiratory illness that sent me to bed for a few days.

But, I am back to work now, recuperating very quickly thanks to all of the kind words, prayers, heka and thoughts being sent my way as well as the correct medications and rest...and it's wonderful to be able to talk to you again.

On my days off I had some time amidst the resting and recuperating to give some very strong thought to this Kemetic month, one that is filled with major festivals. It will also mark the opening of our very first outdoor shrine at Tawy House, and we're finalizing the plans for a major celebration weekend as well as a few other surprises. I'm also making ready for a possible trip back to Haiti in July before New Year as part of our expanding the Udjat Foundation for children. There's so much excitement, and just general joy, to be shared! I am glad to have you to share it with.

Watch these devotions, and our websites, for the exciting things to come in the last two months of Kemetic Year 9!

Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!
