About
The daily devotions are written by Her Holiness the Nisut (AUS) and include prayers and special practices for the faithful, corresponding to the Kemetic Orthodox calendar.

From 1994-1999, the daily devotions had been available exclusively to followers of the House of Netjer. We share them now with the general public so that all may learn from these enlightening and thought-provoking missives.

How is your Feed the Ka Challenge coming along? Check in with us!

We're really excited. More than ten new Shemsu and children of the Faith will be Named this evening in our special Shemsu Naming Ceremony. This is a very happy time for us, when we welcome new initiates into Kemetic Orthodoxy and celebrate their rite of passage in the faith to becoming full converts.

This particular round of ceremonies has been interesting as well, with new Deities making appearances in the divinations and some interesting combinations. It seems that as the faith matures the gods are welcoming more and more of Their children home. Nekhtet!

I pray for all these new Shemsu and the children who will be blessed in our faith that the gods and goddesses are always close. May they always feel Their love.

Dua Heka! Dua Hethert! Dua Ihy! Nekhtet!

The flowers are blooming around Yinepu's shrine in the Tawy House yard. A friend of the faith took some photos and you can see them in the Daily Ma'at Galleries, the last two photos currently.

Spring comes and brings with it the flowering and the greening of our home, as well as an upswing in visitors. We've missed everyone over this cold winter. Come see us soon!

I pray in the names of the gods of this day that you are blessed with the spirit of creativity.

Dua Heka! Dua Hethert! Dua Ihy! Nekhtet!

(Saturday:)It is the day of counting in the Presence by Djehuty who heard Ma'at, this great one. All gods are in great festivity. (Sunday:) Ma'at judges in front of these gods Who became angry in the island of the sanctuary of Khem (Letopolis). The Majesty of Heru revised it.

How is your Feed the Ka Challenge coming along? Check in with us!

As the festival of Shu and Tefnut's birthday, and the festival of Heka's Crowning, draw to a close we celebrate two days in honor of Djehuty and Ma'at. Djehuty, Keeper of Wisdom, "counts" before Ma'at -- He is watching and noting everything we do, matching it up against our destinies and our challenges, our prayers and our wishes and hopes. He presents His numerations to Ma'at, Who declares them before the gods and goddesses of all of Kemet in festival.

What will Djehuty "count" in your life?

What will Ma'at be telling the gods about you?

May it all be good things.

Dua Shu! Dua Tefnut! Dua Heka! Dua Hethert! Dua Ihy! Dua Djehuty! Dua Ma'at! Nekhtet!

We continue our celebration of birth, rebirth, creativity and joy.

Do something special today, for your ka (Feed the Ka Challenge! You know you want to!), and make a choice today to be happy in something, even if you aren't entirely sure that you are.

This is a subtle use of Heka, Who is also in festival.

What you believe, becomes.

Use this for your own benefit, and use it often.

Dua Shu! Dua Tefnut! Dua Heka! Dua Hethert! Dua Ihy! Nekhtet!

It's RPD season again, and two have been done and a few more will be done over the next few days. There's a lot of excitement around new people passing through one of the deepest and most moving rites of passage in our religion. Nekhtet for those who are doing their RPD during such an auspicious set of holidays!

Hethert gives birth to Ihy today, and a month of celebrations ensues. As kingship is given back to the land, the land is both protected and nurtured. May all beings find comfort and blessing in knowing that the gods are providing for us every day and each year that blessing is renewed. Nekhtet!

"A disk flanked with two plumes, all of them mounted on the horizontal horns in the presence of His Father..." So begins the Edfu temple's text of the Crowning of Heka, the day when Heka, the force and being of magic itself, is crowned.

It is a day when magical things can happen. For us "magical" doesn't necessarily mean by surprise or defying the laws of physics -- but the things that can and will happen when we put our hearts and minds to their creation.

What will you use your heka to do today?

Use your authoritative speech (that's what heka means after all) to do all the things you wish. Celebrate the birthday of the First Two with your heka creations and rejoice.

Dua Shu! Dua Tefnut! Dua Heka! Nekhtet!

I am hoping that our technical issues with the devotions are sorted out. If you have been knocked off the maiiling list, please sign back up, and I apologize for delays and issues.

Welcome to the first month of Shomu! This season brings the culmination of all the work we have been doing, all the goals we have set for ourselves and all the creativity we put out into the world over the last two seasons. What sorts of things will you harvest during this season as we near another Wep Ronpet and end the Year of Geb?

Here at Tawy House, the flowers have begun to emerge in the yard, all around the statue of Yinepu in the backyard shrine, opening the way to the summer and beautiful greenness everywhere. We are gearing up for some excellent events -- please RSVP so we can get a good headcount -- and also preparing for some other events.

One of the major events that has been scheduled in addition to a huge Wep Ronpet that got too big for us to hold at the temple and will be at a hotel this year -- is a Pilgrimage to Egypt in November 2006 to mark my tenth year as Nisut. This is a private trip 10 years in the making and I really hope you can join us; it will be an excellent time together in the Two Lands.

More exciting news about new publications and courses is coming in the next several weeks.

On this day when we honor the birthday feast of Shu and Tefnut, Yesterday and Tomorrow, the original creators of heaven and earth, we pray for a continued sense of responsibility and creativity in the world. May everyone receive what they put forth into the universe, and may it be in good measure.

Dua Shu! Dua Tefnut! Dua Hethert! Nekhtet!

How is your Feed the Ka Challenge coming along? Check in with us!

A month turns, bringing with it happiness and sadness, victory and defeat, joy and health and challenge and change.

A season turns, from the springing forth of creativity to its harvest, the time when things become slower and warmer and our thoughts turn to the changing of the year.

It is a holy time when all the gods are worshipped, honored and given Their offerings. We honor our ancestors who bring us together and the gods we all share in common, and we are content.

May the new season bring you everything you have worked for, hoped for, dreamed about...and more. May it all be good and satisfying, and may Ma'at continue to flourish in our hearts, our Nation, our countries and our world.

Dua Ptah-Sokar-Wesir! Dua Tem! Dua Netjeru nebu! Dua Nebtu! Nekhtet!
