Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Feast of Wesir As if our massive Naming on Wednesday wasn't enough, last night at the new temple we had a small, but no less meaningful, event. One of the Shemsu who could not be Named on Wednesday night because she was on her way to the temple, our Joan from Korea, received her name directly in front of Amun's icon in the new temple, the very first formal ritual to be performed in our new home.
Please allow me to introduce and congratulate: A'anetamun means "Amun is kind," and indeed this great god was kind to permit His daughter such a special evening among about a dozen people of our faith. We'll upload some photos as soon as we can. May each of you be blessed on this day of holy Wesir's festival. May His creative power and His gentle love fulfill and protect you and raise you up. Dua Amun-Ra! Dua Wesir! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! More than 50 people witnessed our most recent Shemsu Naming Ceremony and Rootnaming on Wednesday evening. (We didn't even know our internet chatroom could *hold* that many for a simulcast, nekhtet!) Please help me congratulate:
Sekhmethotepheri, son of Sekhmet-Mut-Hethert, of Texas; and we also welcome the rootnamed Children of the Faith:
Ptahsokaremheb, son of Biaytsekhmet and Robb, who is protected by Ptah-Sokar; A million nekhtets and much rejoicing are going out to all these newly-named Shemsu and children of the faith. May Netjer bless you. Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! As the world turns and a new season comes, we remember the past and consider the future. But, all we really ever have in our hands, all we can ever really do anything with, is the present. Take the present into consideration, regarding the past only as the previous presents you have already completed; and the future as something not to be touched until it comes into present time. Take the present as the blessing that it is, and recreate your life with the Zep Tepi, the First Time, of every single breath. Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! I am so excited this week! Tonight in Dua we will be giving Shemsu Names and Rootnames to quite a few of our newer members, and some of our older members (one a ten-year veteran) who have decided to take this step in their rites of passage. Nekhtet! This weekend we have a full house for our first Tawy House event, even though it's just a leap-day party I'm hosting to help local members get to know each other -- we have guests coming from as far as the East and West Coasts, and one from Korea! Nekhtet! And I'll be heading for Egypt in less than a month to perform the renewals of the year for our people and our nation. Nekhtet! (I could shout that all day!) I pray the names of Heru and Hethert, the great golden ones of love and prosperity Whose shrines are taking shape in our temple right now and Whose festivals are upon us, that you are also happy and excited and able to spend time with those you love right now. Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Birthday of Apep Today we remember, but do not honor, the entrance of evil, death, and sadness into our universe. We remember that all our actions, all our thoughts and all the contents of our hearts and minds are the weapons that the gods and goddesses have given us against the presence of the imperfect Uncreated, this source of all that is not good in the universe. And we pick up those weapons and continue the fight. May each of you find the strength to banish any isfet in your lives, whether it be through your thoughts or your actions, through greed, through ignorance, through malice or through a desire for revenge. May each of you remember that great Ma'at is always there to take your hand and lead you away from all that is wretched and wrong with the world into a new and better life free of distractions, sadness and bad habits. May She bless you and lead you onward as we along with the great god Set fight against evil and move past it into the sunrise. Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Saq-Heru (20th) As we welcome the new moon and the beginning of another lunar cycle in our calendar, we have also welcomed eight more members of the faith to their spiritual Parents in the Kemetic Orthodox Rite of Parent Divination. This rite of passage in our faith invites members to get to know the gods and goddesses that are particularly and personally related to their spiritual journey, and eight divinations in two days is a record for the faith so far. This year has been a watershed year for our growth and for the membership of our faith. Nekhtet to our gods and goddesses for continuing to bless the ministry and the people of this religion as we continue to serve Netjer and bring Ma'at to the world into the future. I am so very excited for all those joining the faith as new beginners in the next week or so, and also those who are now becoming full-fledged Remetj and Shemsu. You have a wonderful journey ahead of you, filled with lots of wonderful things. May you remember these times fondly and build upon them with love and pride. May the mighty god Heru and His darkened Eye heal you as They heal Themselves. Dua Heru! Dua Iah! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Feast of Nut Who Counts the Days Look upon the sky and know that She contains you within all of Her love. You are a child of Her stars, the unblinking ones, the ancestors Whose eyes never rest from seeking you out. You are a child of Her winds, the unfailing ones, the breaths of life that circle the globe and caress every face. You are a child of Her moisture, the gentle rains and watery places of all the earth that cleanse and nourish and renew. You are Hers, and She loves you very much on every day She counts. Dua Nut! Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Saq Djehuty and His Spirits The Lord of Wisdom is celebrated as we begin a weekend of lectures and ritual workshops at the Pantheacon interfaith conference in San Jose, California. He is already present among our members, who spent the afternoon poring over artifacts and greeting the blessed dead resident at the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum here in town. His spirits are being felt as we prepare to host our first event, an open discussion/hospitality suite, this evening, and His private ceremonies afterward. May He continue to bless our event and give each of you who couldn't be here with us insights and creativity in great measure! I pray in the name of this great god that you receive His blessings any time you seek wisdom. Dua Djehuty! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! Saq-Wesir as the Userhat comes forth from Nun As the great sun, hidden at night, rises into the world, we have a glimpse of Amun-Ra within Wesir, the mystical union of the living and dead forms of the Divine. There are gods on both sides of the Veil. Creation does not know only one of the worlds; it is part of Seen and Unseen, living and dead. This living world is no different than the world of the ancestors; the sun shines upon it, too. Know Wesir as He touches our world, and as the Akhu experience Amun-Ra as we do, be aware that our worlds are always touching, not just on a day when we celebrate Their mystical union. Dua Wesir! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! What does it mean to serve? Who is a servant of the gods? Is it the one who has taken and passed a test? The one who accepts the call of the gods in his heart? The one with 54 titles, each more inscrutable than the rest? The one who works in silence without anyone knowing, not caring if she is thanked? Does a title make a servant? Does one need a title to serve? Does one even have to be acknowledged, or even thanked, to be a servant? Any who answer Netjer's call, and who do Their work, whether nobody in the entire universe knows about it except Netjer or not, is Their servant. Not titles, not wealth, not fame, not suffering, not even the amount of work, make a servant - only the silent acceptance, the will to obey, and the beginning of service. Today I salute all the servants of the gods upon earth. They know what you are doing, and They are pleased. Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Processions of Djehuty, Nesert, and Khnum-Ra It is a day of great power and great wisdom. Djehuty comes, followed by Sekhmet as Nesert, the flame of Ra's vengeance; and Khnum-Ra, the creator as the sun. And Heru's appearance continues, bringing luck, strength and protection to all of the people. Make a special offering today in the name of your challenges, that they might be lifted from you and you might receive wisdom on how to remove them from your life forever. I pray in the names of these great gods for your blessing. Dua Djehuty! Dua Nesert! Dua Khnum-Ra! Dua Djehuty! Nekhtet!

Day of Judgment Today we recall the judgment that all the dead must pass in order to become Akhu, the shining blessed ones in Wesir's kingdom. May all of our Akhu be glorified and pleased, and may They receive our offerings with grace and happiness. May all who die find a fair hearing in that great hall. May all who live continue to live their lives in ways that do not cause the feather of Ma'at to lie heavy upon their souls. As Heru, son of Aset, great one of mercy and justice, appears before His father, may we too appear among the blessed when our time comes. Dua Ma'at! Dua Heru! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! The Eye of Ra Calls the Shemsu Brightly shining the Eye of Ra crosses the sky each day in the Boat of Millions of Years. Some have called it Aten, the brilliant disk; others Amun-Ra, the hidden sun. Today this light calls to the Shemsu, the followers of the gods and goddesses, and brings greeting. It carries both purity and a reminder to service, a call to the tasks at hand. It calls to those whom It has not called in such numbers in an age, for thousands of years. It calls to you. May the Eye of Ra bring you all blessings as it shines upon your head, and may it bless doubly all those whom It has named as the Shemsu, all the world round. Dua Ra! Dua Shemsu nebu! Nekhtet!

Jubilation of Wesir Wesir is honored tonight in the full moon and the growth that lies just around the corner for those of us whose yards are still bearded with snow. Yinepu too goes forth, with many to honor and adore Him. These are great days, for our community and for our world. How will you honor the fullness of Wesir's creative power in your life today? Ask Yinepu as Wepwawet for His help in keeping the doors to your creativity open. Dua Wesir! Dua Yinepu! Nekhtet!

Saq Nit at nighttime Last evening the great goddess Nit was celebrated in our biweekly Dua. She had many wise words for those who would listen, and we were all blessed by Her presence. We are also blessed by the presence of dedicated people, who serve their brothers and sisters in faith as priests and thus magnify the glory of our gods upon the earth. One of those people, and the man who leads our priesthood team, is Rev. Craig Schaefer, or Kai-Imakhu Antybast as he is known in the faith, our chief priest and the bearer of my seals. Today is Kai-Imakhu's birthday, and I take this time to remind him just how honored we are that he chose to be part of our faith and to give it so much of himself. Each year in fact I've tried to outdo myself writing something on his birthday in these devotions...but I will let his actions speak for themselves this year! Bast is very proud of him and so am I. Heru em meses nefer enek, Kai-Imakhu Antybast. May She bless you a million times. Dua Nit! Dua Heru! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! There is love around you, in many places where you might never expect to see it. See, hear, feel, and know this love. It is this love that you have within yourself, a seed of Wesir planted there before you were born, just waiting to grow into a mighty, strong tree, or a beautiful, sublime flower. Watch yourself grow, and know your blessings. Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

Bless all the children of Netjer, known and unknown! We apologize for the loss of February 2 devotions on the website and our Daily Ma'at mailing list. Our ISP was having some problems but they seem to have been corrected now! Today I would like to share a teaching about focus. It's easy to go through life as if you were just a bystander, and not become completely involved, totally consumed, with whatever you are doing. It's also easy to watch your life pass you by when you do this. Be aware, right now, of who you are, where you are, and what you are doing. This is not as easy as it sounds. When you have achieved awareness of yourself and your place in the universe -- if even only for a moment -- then you have experienced ma'at. Cherish this awareness, and seek to be in it at all times. Dua Netjer! Nekhtet!

First Day of the Kemetic Month The new Kemetic month brings with it the second half of the Kemetic year, and the culminations of many months of work. Tawy House, our new temple and conference center building, will open its doors at the end of this month. In the middle of the month I will travel to San Jose, California with a number of our priests and members to give lectures and rituals as part of the Pantheacon interfaith conference. And, in the middle of March, I will be travelling to Egypt, to make a special private pilgrimage to visit the places of our ancestors and gods, due to an amazing gift and Netjer's blessings on our work. It is shaping up to be a wonderful season here in the faith. I pray in the names of all these great creator gods, Who oversee the shaping of the year, that you too are enjoying good surprises, successes where you might not have expected any, and know you are loved and cherished, by me and by Netjer, every day. Dua Amun! Dua Heru! Dua Ptah! Dua Heri-sha-ef! Dua Khnum! Dua Ra! Nekhtet!
